The Tensas Council on Aging, Inc. is currently in the process of updating its membership files.
If you would like to become a member of the Council on Aging, please stop by the office located at 142 12th Street, St. Joseph, LA. and complete a membership application, or you may contact our office and one will be mailed to you.
A completed application must be on file at the Council on Aging office by May 22, 2024 in order for a member to participate in the Annual Meeting which is on Thursday, June 20, 2023 at 3:30 p.m.
The public is cordially invited.
You must be a parish resident to join and be interested in assisting senior citizens of Tensas Parish. It is also time to offer any suggestions for the improvement of your council.

NOTICE TO CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTORS, LABOR UNIONS AND PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS
The Tensas Parish Sheriff’s Office intends to solicit help from the Louisiana National Guard under the Innovative Readiness Training Program. The project assistance is to construct a ten-lane pistol/rifle range, to include side berms, impact berm, sidewalks, overhead shade structures, a limestone access road and a vehicle parking pad. The project will be located behind the Tensas Parish Detention Center, located at 8606 US Highway 65, Waterproof, LA 71375. No local funds are available to complete this project without National Guard assistance. Local contractors, labor union organizations or private individuals who have questions or who wish to voice opposition of the National Guard’s assistance regarding this project may contact Sheriff Rob Rushing at rrushing@tensasso.org or (318) 766-3499, no later than June 21,2024. Persons not filing comments within the timeframe noted will be considered to have waived their objections to the participation of the Louisiana National Guard in this project.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
The Sixth Judicial District District Public Defender’s (a/k/a “Sixth Judicial District Chief Indigent Defender’s”) Proposed Budget for FY2025 and Proposed Amended Budget for FY2024 will be available for public inspection beginning June 10, 2024, at the Sixth Judicial District Public Defender’s Office (a/k/a “Sixth Judicial District Indigent Defender’s Office”) located at 1602A Felicia Drive, Tallulah, Louisiana 71282, during regular weekly office hours from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday. On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, beginning at 2:00 p.m., a Public Hearing will be held at the Sixth Judicial District Public Defender’s Office (a/k/a “Sixth Judicial District Indigent Defender’s Office”) located at 1602A Felicia Drive, Tallulah, Louisiana 71282 on the Proposed Budget for FY2025 and Proposed Amended Budget for FY2024. The Proposed Budget for FY2025 and Proposed Amended Budget for FY2024 will also be available beginning June 10, 2024, for public inspection at the Police Jury’s Office in East Carroll, Madison, and Tensas Parishes during their regular business hours as noted below:
