The Tensas Parish Police Jury met this day in regular session convened. There were present the following officers and members to-wit:

Members: Billy Joe Arceneaux, Robert Clark, Bill Sid Crigler (absent), Clay Foster, Terrence South (absent), and Alex Watson.

There were no comments from the general public regarding the agenda item(s).
Upon a motion by Billy Joe Arceneaux, duly seconded by Robert Clark, it was unanimously agreed to approve the agenda as printed. Ayes have it. Motion carried.
Upon a motion by Robert Clark, duly seconded by Billy Joe Arceneaux, it was unanimously agreed to approve the minutes for the Regular Meeting held on May 14, 2024. Ayes have it. Motion carried.
Upon a motion by Alex Watson, duly seconded by Robert Clark, it was unanimously agreed to approve payment of bills as authorized by the Finance Committee. Ayes have it. Motion carried.
Presidents Report:
Bubba Rushing reported a small leak in the Tensas Parish Courthouse.
Secretary/Treasurer Report:
Pauline Doyle reported the Love LA Outdoors grant contract will be signed this week and ground work will begin.
Parish Superintendent Report:
Todd Merriett reported Waterproof had called concerning cold mix, TOSJ had been contacted about a letter for culvert installation at the Tensas Library and the installation involved the Town of St. Joseph R.O.W. and utility lines.
OEP Director Report:
Kiley Sanders reported NOAA had requested pictures from the May 14, 2024 storm event and the Smart 911 is in the pilot stage.
Upon a motion by Billy Joe Arceneaux, duly seconded by Robert Clark, it was unanimously agreed to approve the material list for the Tensas Maintenance Unit. Ayes have it. Motion carried.
Upon a motion by Billy Joe Arceneaux, duly seconded by Clay Foster, it was unanimously agreed to reject the maintenance agreements for the generators at the Tensas Parish Courthouse and Safety Building. Ayes have it. Motion carried.
Upon a motion by Billy Joe Arceneaux, duly seconded by Robert Clark, it was unanimously agreed to approve putting the lawn mower and old motor grader up for auction. Ayes have it. Motion carried.
Upon a motion by Alex Watson, duly seconded by Robert Clark, it was unanimously agreed to approve paying overtime from June first to August first, 2024 for the motor graders to grade roads and pull ditches. Ayes have it. Motion carried.
Upon a motion by Alex Watson, duly seconded by Robert Clark, it was unanimously agreed to approve the purchase of the credit card system from Rebel Services. LLC and change the service agreement to $1995.00 per year. Ayes have it. Motion carried.
Upon a motion by Robert Clark, duly seconded by Alex Watson, it was unanimously agreed to approve the weather station by ULM at the Tensas Parish Airport upon the approval of the engineer. Ayes have it. Motion carried.
Upon a motion by Billy Joe Arceneaux, duly seconded by Clay Foster, it was unanimously agreed to adjourn the meeting. Ayes have it. Motion carried.

The Tensas Council on Aging, Inc. is currently in the process of updating its membership files.
If you would like to become a member of the Council on Aging, please stop by the office located at 142 12th Street, St. Joseph, LA. and complete a membership application, or you may contact our office and one will be mailed to you.
A completed application must be on file at the Council on Aging office by May 22, 2024 in order for a member to participate in the Annual Meeting which is on Thursday, June 20, 2023 at 3:30 p.m.
The public is cordially invited.
You must be a parish resident to join and be interested in assisting senior citizens of Tensas Parish. It is also time to offer any suggestions for the improvement of your council.
