NOTICE TO CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTORS, LABOR UNIONS AND PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS
The Tensas Parish Sheriff’s Office intends to solicit help from the Louisiana National Guard under the Innovative Readiness Training Program. The project assistance is to construct a ten-lane pistol/rifle range, to include side berms, impact berm, sidewalks, overhead shade structures, a limestone access road and a vehicle parking pad. The project will be located behind the Tensas Parish Detention Center, located at 8606 US Highway 65, Waterproof, LA 71375. No local funds are available to complete this project without National Guard assistance. Local contractors, labor union organizations or private individuals who have questions or who wish to voice opposition of the National Guard’s assistance regarding this project may contact Sheriff Rob Rushing at rrushing@tensasso.org or (318) 766-3499, no later than June 21,2024. Persons not filing comments within the timeframe noted will be considered to have waived their objections to the participation of the Louisiana National Guard in this project.

Todd Merriett reported culvert washouts from the last Flash Flood were being addressed, sweeping out Ash Street ditch in St. Joseph has begun, beaver dam cleanout is underway throughout the parish, road grading has been scheduled throughout the parish, and all equipment having scheduled preventive maintenance is being performed.

Kiley Sanders reported HGA working on finalizing Generators applications for Hurricane Ida, camera system 911/Courthouse went down last week and is now currently up, and MSD demonstration set for September 19, 2024 at Trinity Medical Center.

Womack & Sons Construction Group, LLC $1,166,200.00 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the contract be awarded to Camo Construction Company, Inc. with a base bid amount of $1,016,575.00; contingent on verification of wage decision and contractor eligibility, by the Office of Community Development.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the amount of construction funds available through the Community Development Block Grant Program, Louisiana Love Outdoor Program is $575,055.00. Therefore, the Tensas Parish Police Jury and Como Construction Company will work on an agreement to get the project within the allowed construction budget. Any amounts over the allowed construction budget, will be the jury’s responsibility.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the President is authorized to execute any and all contracts, estimates and change orders between the Tensas Parish Police Jury and the contractor.
